What we do

Our purpose is to create caring and inclusive communities and a just society. Each year our 700 staff and 600 volunteers support more than 17,550 individuals and families to build on their strengths and lead happy and fulfilling lives. We believe that building stronger communities is the best way to reduce social and economic disadvantage. We deliver 124 programs from 48 locations across metropolitan, regional and rural New South Wales and in Queensland. We also deliver social leadership programs in Victoria and the Northern Territory. Influencing social policy

We have a proud tradition of creating new lines of thought, activity and methods of intervention to tackle the social issues facing Australia. Research and evaluation give us a unique insight into the lives and experiences of the people and communities we work with. It allows us to develop a solid evidence base,  grow our knowledge about social issues and measure the impact of our interventions and also underpins our advocacy work.
