We offer services to all women living in the Campbelltown, Camden and Wollondilly local government areas who are affected by domestic violence, and their family and friends in the Macarthur region of NSW.
All services are free. Support is offered over the phone or in person at the Centre for Women’s Health in Campbelltown, or other arrangements can be made.
Counselling and support
Women are given a timely response to their short term and longer term needs and the needs of their children. We work with women, without judgment or pressure, to help them understand domestic violence and the impact it has had on their lives. We provide options to support them while they address these effects and advocate on their behalf for access to resources and financial and legal services.
“I had somebody listen to me and tell me it was OK to feel the way I did. It was also good to have someone say that I was doing the right thing. I feel more confident about my actions and I am slowly building up my self-esteem and recognising my rights.” - woman who attended counselling 2005
Women's health information and referral
We provide information to women, workers and the community and link them to other services.Groups
We facilitate groups such as ‘Women and domestic violence’, ‘Learning about your needs and rights’, ‘Mothers, children and domestic violence’ and ‘Creative expressive arts.’ Our workshops and training are designed to enhance skills for women to participate and contribute to the wider community. They provide an opportunity to meet other women with shared experiences, learn new skills and get support to create a better future for themselves and their children in a safe and welcoming environment.
“The workshop is an outlet, it helps you cope. It gives you a clearer mind and takes your head away from the worries of everyday.” – woman who attended a creative workshop for women who have experienced domestic violence 2006
