We offer the following services to Aboriginal women 35+ and all women 45+ living in the Macarthur region of NSW. Most services are free unless stated otherwise. Support is offered over the phone or in person at the Centre for Women’s Health in Campbelltown, or other arrangements can be made.

Counselling and support

We listen to issues and concerns without judgment or pressure. We support women to find a sense of wellbeing and balance in their lives.

“In the one session I have been to I received some valuable insights into my current situation. Felt good to have someone feed back my thoughts and help put them into perspective” - woman attending counselling 2005

“Having a counsellor listen and give constructive feedback has helped me feel less isolated and has given me options within my life.” – woman attending counselling 2005

Women’s health information and referral

We provide information to women, workers and the community and link them to other services

Natural therapies

We offer a massage and natural therapies service to help women find a sense of balance and manage any stress, pain or symptoms they may be experiencing. Services may include naturopathy, reflexology, reiki, iridology, herbal medicine, homeopathy, flower essences and massage therapy. A small fee for alternative therapies may apply. Group information sessions on alternative therapies are also run at the Centre.

“It was good to know you are treated as a whole person as often you go to a doctor and feel like a nobody and they don’t really care because they don’t see you as a person!”  - woman attending natural therapies 2006

Groups

We facilitate groups such as relaxation, stress management, personal development, gentle exercise, self care, natural therapies, creative workshops and specially designed training which enhances skills for participation and contribution to the community. Our groups provide women with an opportunity to meet other women, share experiences, learn new skills and explore and nurture themselves in a safe and welcoming environment.

“Coming to this group has been a lifeline for me. I am now able to get on with my life and feel as though I have something to contribute. Thankyou for giving me back my life.” - Woman who attended a group for women over 45, 2003

“As we do exercises we have the chance to interact with other people” - woman who attended an exercise group 2006
